Noida to Build Six-Lane Underpass at Parthala Chowk
Project FAQs
The Noida Authority is planning a 710-metre-long, six-lane underpass beneath the Parthala Signature Bridge. With three lanes in each direction, the underpass aims to provide signal-free movement along the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) corridor and reduce traffic congestion at the junction.
The project is currently in the planning stage, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) under preparation. Tendering is expected to begin after approval from the Noida Authority Board. Construction is estimated to take approximately 18 months, although an official start date has not yet been announced.
The proposed underpass could improve connectivity for residents of Noida Sectors 71–79 and 119–122, along with Sorkha village. Commuters from Greater Noida West, Gaur City, Siddharth Vihar and Vasundhara may also benefit from smoother traffic movement towards Noida and Ghaziabad.
The underpass could positively influence residential demand by improving connectivity and reducing commuting delays. Areas such as Greater Noida West and nearby Noida sectors may become more attractive to homebuyers. However, property price appreciation will also depend on project quality, local infrastructure, market demand and the successful completion of the underpass.
The six-lane underpass is designed to separate FNG corridor traffic from vehicles using the existing Parthala Signature Bridge and nearby junction roads. By allowing through-traffic to move without stopping at signals, it could reduce waiting times and improve traffic flow. However, overall travel-time improvements will depend on the capacity of connecting roads and surrounding intersections.
